Mechanical Buyer – Supply Chain Team

We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Buyer to support our growing Supply Chain operations. This role reports directly to the Purchasing Manager and plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth flow of materials for production.

What You’ll Do

• Review and process mechanical Bills of Materials (BOMs) released by the engineering team.
• Source vendors, request quotations, and issue purchase orders for mechanical components.
• Negotiate pricing for individual orders as well as long-term supply agreements.
• Monitor order status, track delivery schedules, and expedite shipments when necessary.
• Collaborate closely with Mechanical Engineering to align on requirements and resolve issues.
• Communicate significant cost or delivery variances to management.
• Help establish and maintain consistent purchasing practices across the department.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and material specifications.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing systems.
• Experience sourcing electrical components is a plus.
• Knowledge of fabrication processes such as machining, welding, and sheet metal work is helpful.
