Chief Philanthropic Officer The Winston-Salem Rescue Mission (WSRM) is a Christ-centered nonprofit committed to helping men recover from addiction, homelessness, and hardship through the transforming power of the gospel.
We're seeking a Chief Philanthropic Officer (CPO) to lead our fundraising strategy in partnership with our Director of Development. This senior leader will focus on major gift growth, acquiring new donors, stewarding current supporters, engaging the board in fundraising efforts, and preparing for a future capital campaign.
Key Responsibilities Lead efforts to identify, engage, and secure new major donor prospects-including individuals, foundations, churches, and corporate partners Cultivate and steward existing major donors in collaboration with the Director of Development Collaborate on a moves management system to deepen donor engagement Equip board members to participate effectively in fundraising Drive capital campaign readiness, including early-stage donor strategy and application of the existing case for support Contribute to overall fundraising strategy, systems, and team development alongside the Director of Development.
Qualifications 7-10 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, with a strong record of securing major gifts Proven ability to identify, cultivate, and solicit high-capacity individual and institutional donors Skilled in donor strategy, communication, and stewardship systems Experience engaging board members in fundraising through training, coaching, and role assignment Knowledge of capital campaign planning and donor engagement Aligned with WSRM's Christ-centered mission and values.
