Akkodis is seeking a CNC Machinist/Programmer for a Direct Hire/Full Time position in Auburn Hills, MI.

• JOB TITLE: CNC Machinist
• EMPLOYMENT TYPE : Direct Hire
• COMPENSATION: $40,000 to $72,800 (possibly higher, DOE)
• LOCATION: Auburn Hills, Michigan

Shift:

Day Shift- 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

OVERTIME = Time and One Half.

Experience with GUN DRILL MACHINES preferred AND MUST BE ABLE TO PROGRAM IN SOFTWARE.

Summary:

Client is an industry leading tooling company who is searching for a CNC Machinist. The CNC Machinist/Programmer has a background in machine operation and CNC programming. Our customers are automotive manufacturers and suppliers in one of the fastest growing automotive regions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate Numerically controlled Machine Tools
• Perform complex series of progressive machining operations on a diverse line of work to close and exacting tolerance and finish specifications
• Check Parts for conformance to specifications
• May run more than one unit simultaneously
• CNC 3 Axis programming of vertical mill
• Set-up and operate CNC vertical mill
• Understanding of Fanuc and G&M codes
• Manual machining skills (Bridgeport, lathe, grinder)
• Perform quality checks and make machine offsets as necessary
• Read and understand part designs
• Functional familiarity with CAD

Qualifications:

• Direct hands-on experience with CNC vertical mills, manual milling machines, lathes, grinders
• Previous machine shop, fabrication experience, and the ability to work quickly and accurately with large, heavy machinery and products
• Familiar with WorkNC CAM or RTM/Lemoine CAM software a plus
• Experience with Fidia, Heidenhain or Fanuc machine controls
• 3+2+5-axis machining a plus
• Experience with machining 3D contour surfaces
• Injection mold core/cavity/component and/or model machining experience
• Injection mold 2D plate machining and 2D component machining experience
• Ability to program/operate a 3 axis mill to complete all drilling, tapping, and milling processes

Ability to lift 5 - 50 pounds. Ability to safely operate overhead crane (up to 40-ton capacity) and power industrial truck (up to 12,000-pound capacity). In order to safely operate crane and power industrial truck, the operator/individual is required to have the following; 20/20 vision (or corrected through glasses/contacts), have effective use of all four limbs, be of a height sufficient to operate controls and to have an unobstructed view of the work area, have coordination between eyes, hands, and feet, be free of known convulsion disorders and unconsciousness, and the ability to understand signs, labels, and instructions. Strong eye and hand coordination is required. Requires frequent hand movements to operate controls. Ability to safely enter and exit machine through climbing, reaching, and squatting.
