Position Summary:

We are seeking a Compliance Assistant to support our Director of Compliance in managing regulatory compliance across the company. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, process-driven, and bring a proactive mindset to improve and streamline how the role functions.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong organizational skills are a must
• Accounting background is a plus
• DOT compliance experience is a plus
• Must have the right attitude to identify inefficiencies and drive improvements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1+ years of experience in a safety/compliance-related role preferred
• Familiarity with DOT, FMCSR, CSA, TWIC, IAC, TSA, OSHA, and Workers Compensation
• Basic HR knowledge helpful
• Proficient with systems such as GeoTab, Idelic, TruckRight, Asurint, Tenstreet, and Luma
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Flexible for occasional evenings or weekends
• Minimal travel (5–10%)

Key Responsibilities:

• Support compliance audits and ensure adherence to company and regulatory policies
• Assist in managing DOT Drug & Alcohol program processes
• Maintain accurate DOT records and driver qualification files
• Track updates from FMCSA, TSA, and other regulatory bodies
• Communicate compliance-related changes to internal teams
• Assist with documenting disciplinary actions
• Help track equipment inspections and schedules
• Support onboarding and orientation efforts in partnership with HR and operations
• Coordinate with vendors on registration, renewal, and compliance documentation
• Serve as a backup to the Director of Compliance
