Job Title: Director of Training

Department: Training & Development

Reports To: Vice President

Location: SugarLand, TX + travel

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:

The Director of Training leads the strategy, development, and execution of training programs across all Metro by T-Mobile retail locations and support functions. This individual is responsible for designing high-impact learning initiatives that enhance employee performance, ensure brand consistency, and support the company’s goals for sales, service, compliance, and operational excellence.

As a key member of the leadership team, the Director of Training will oversee training teams, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive a learning culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training strategy for retail sales associates, store managers, and operational staff aligned with Metro by T-Mobile’s brand standards and performance objectives.
  • Lead the design and delivery of training content across various formats (in-person, virtual, e-learning, and blended).
  • Oversee new hire training programs , ongoing product/service training, leadership development, and compliance training.
  • Measure training effectiveness through KPIs , feedback, and performance outcomes; continuously optimize based on results.
  • Collaborate with marketing, HR, operations, and sales leadership to ensure training supports organizational priorities and product launches.
  • Recruit, manage, and develop a high-performing training team, including field trainers and instructional designers.
  • Maintain strong understanding of Metro by T-Mobile policies, products, promotions, and technologies to ensure training materials remain current and relevant.
  • Ensure consistent training delivery across all markets and compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement learning technologies (LMS, assessments, certification tools) to scale and streamline training efforts.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador and promote a strong service culture across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Education, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in training and development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Retail wireless or telecom experience highly preferred (Metro by T-Mobile, T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, etc.).
  • Proven success in building and scaling training programs in a multi-location retail environment .
  • Strong leadership, team development, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation abilities.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS), e-learning tools, and performance analytics.
  • Willingness to travel to regional locations as needed (up to 25%).

Preferred Skills:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience with T-Mobile systems, product lines, and brand values is highly desirable.
