Nestled in the heart of Corona del Mar, inspired by the historic atmosphere of an English country inn, Five Crowns has remained an Orange County dining institution since 1965. Part of the Lawry’s family of restaurants, this dinner-only staple boasts an impressive variety of juicy steaks, mouthwatering seafood, and classic English fare paired with authentic, trademark hospitality. Guests can relish in multiple inviting dining spaces such as the sunlit greenhouse, stunning English garden, and cozy fireplace-lined interior complete with authentic antiques and period paintings.
Adjacent to Five Crowns is speakeasy-esque SideDoor , a separate operation within the restaurant that was revamped and reopened in 2009 as Corona del Mar’s first and only English-style gastropub. The menu features seasonal small plates, made-to-order cheese and charcuterie, and a top-tier selection of craft beers, spirits, and cocktails.
Both Five Crowns and SideDoor provide the perfect setting for private events of any occasion, with pre-set or bespoke menu options, and an outstanding events team to assist every step of the way. Five Crowns is seeking a passionate, driven Executive Chef to lead its celebrated culinary program. This is an incredible opportunity to bring creativity to a high-volume kitchen that blends timeless classics with modern, seasonal expression.
The ideal candidate is excited to work with premium proteins, coastal seafood, and market-driven produce – guiding a menu that evolves with the seasons while honoring long-standing guest favorites. The chef will collaborate closely with leadership on menu development, food costing, and innovation. Looking for a hands-on, inspiring leader who values culture as much as craft – someone who builds strong teams and thrives in a respectful, energized kitchen. Experience in esteemed, ingredient-forward restaurants is essential.
