Job Description

Field Service Engineer

Anticipated Duration: 6+ Month Contract to Hire

Responsibilities:

  • Travel to multiple sites within a specified region to provide onsite services including:
  • Troubleshooting
  • Hardware Repair
  • Basic Software troubleshooting
  • Product Installation
  • Basic Client training post installation
  • Installs hardware / software & networks devices and configures product at customer sites.
  • Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance.
  • Proactively responds to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business.
  • Deliver fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems and applications software.

Field Service Engineer Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in electronics and/or chemistry or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of experience as a field engineer supporting Analytical Instrumentation products, with 80% of that support being hardware focused (must have Gas Chromatography experience)
  • Basic knowledge of networking (ability to connect devices to the network and ping them to ensure connectivity)
  • Basic knowledge of electronics and power systems
  • Ability to follow detailed technical instruction sets.
  • Ability to maintain a calm demeanor with tight deadlines.
  • Exemplary technical and process troubleshooting skills.
  • Log gathering experience.
  • Understanding of remote troubleshooting techniques and tools
  • Case management experience (Salesforce Service Cloud preferred but not required)
  • Technical aptitude paired with ability & desire to quickly learn new technologies.
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose problems and work independently to solve them.
  • Dedication and focus on customer satisfaction and follow-through.
  • Manage all internal & external interactions in a professional and courteous manner.

The hourly pay rate range for this position is $45.00 to $60.00 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location). Benefits available to full-time employees: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k and commuter benefits.
