Associate Attorney – Boutique Litigation Practice | Austin, TX (Hybrid)

Our client—a boutique firm in Austin founded by former Biglaw attorneys—is growing and seeking an associate to join their unique practice. This role is ideal for someone who craves intellectually stimulating work without the demands of traditional litigation or Biglaw culture.

This firm operates more like an in-house legal department than a traditional law firm. There are no trial dockets, no late nights, and no weekend work. Instead, the team focuses on providing strategic guidance and managing outside counsel on complex commercial insurance coverage matters.

The practice is national and niche, involving coverage issues in sophisticated policies related to:

• Cybersecurity and data privacy
• Intellectual property (copyright, trademark, media liability, and privacy)
• Errors and omissions (E&O) involving lawyers, contractors, and software professionals

Attorneys are drawn from diverse litigation, tech, IP, and construction backgrounds. The work is writing-heavy, analytical, and rooted in complex legal strategy—without the stress of court deadlines.

Qualifications:

• J.D. from a U.S.-accredited law school
• Licensed to practice in any U.S. state (Texas bar not required initially)
• 1–3 years of litigation experience or experience in internal investigations, construction law, or soft IP
• Prior Biglaw experience or judicial clerkship is a plus, but not required
