Job Title: Senior Industrial Engineer

Location: Michigan

Position Summary:

The Senior Industrial Engineer (Sr IE) plays a critical role in supporting and advancing Operational Excellence across the organization. This position applies extensive knowledge of industrial engineering principles to improve processes, reduce waste, and drive efficiencies. The Sr IE leads complex projects and initiatives, leveraging advanced problem-solving techniques and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver measurable results in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that optimize operational performance, reduce cost, and enhance quality and compliance.
• Conduct detailed time and motion studies, workflow analysis, and root cause analyses to identify areas of inefficiency.
• Develop and implement standardized work procedures, policies, and best practices across production and business processes.
• Apply lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma tools, and industrial engineering techniques to drive process excellence.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies and systems to improve operational capability and scalability.
• Collaborate with leadership, engineering, quality, and operations teams to influence and guide improvement projects.
• Prioritize projects based on data-driven business needs and effectively manage resources to meet timelines.
• Support the deployment and sustainability of the CE Way and Culture Mindset across teams.
• Monitor and report project outcomes, KPIs, and ROI to stakeholders at all levels.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and project team members to foster capability development.

• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook); strong mathematical and quantitative skills.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in industrial engineering, process improvement, or related roles.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher strongly preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing or operational environment required.
• Proven track record of delivering sustainable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
