Job Description

About our Office : At Paul M. Sandvick DDS & Associates, we believe that a minimally invasive approach works best. In other words, we only treat what is medically necessary and will not promote unneeded or excessive dental procedures. Our philosophy is based on the desire for patients to maintain healthy teeth into advanced age and realize a conservative approach is more beneficial in the long run.At our office, you will find doctors who are "physicians of the mouth," not tooth technicians who simply "drill and fill." Your life-long dental health is of the utmost importance to us.At your initial visit, our staff will assess your level of risk for tooth decay. The next step is to help you make the changes needed to reduce the factors leading to additional decay and help you manage any disease that may be an underlying factor in potential tooth loss.We believe that intercepting the causes of decay can be your most valuable asset in preventing serious dental issues down the line. Overview:

As an Insurance Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth operations within the dental office by managing all aspects of dental insurance processing and patient billing. This position involves verifying insurance coverage, processing claims, and assisting patients with understanding their insurance benefits.

  • Verify dental insurance coverage for new and existing patients.
  • Communicate with insurance companies to confirm patient eligibility and benefits.
  • Update patient records with accurate insurance information.
  • Prepare and submit dental insurance claims electronically or by mail.
  • Monitor the status of claims and follow up on outstanding claims.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to claims processing.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, dental staff, and insurance companies.
  • Educate patients about their insurance benefits and coverage limitations.
  • Assist patients in understanding insurance policies, including deductibles, co-pays, and maximums.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of insurance information and claims.
  • Document communications with insurance companies and patients.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Provide administrative support to dental office staff as needed.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, answering phones, and managing patient inquiries.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience working in dental office administration or insurance coordination preferred.
  • Proficiency in dental practice management software and insurance billing systems.
  • Strong understanding of dental insurance terminology, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex insurance information clearly and concisely.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients and insurance company representatives.
