Job Description

We're looking for a skilled MySQL Database Administrator  to take ownership of the performance, availability, security, and scalability of our production and development MySQL environments. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams, and have a passion for MySQL performance tuning and data integrity, this role could be your next great move.

As our  MySQL DBA , you'll play a critical role in:

• Owning and optimizing MySQL environments for key Daxko product lines.
• Designing robust schemas and data models to support scalable applications.
• Managing backups, recovery processes, user permissions, and replication setups.
• Monitoring system performance and proactively identifying bottlenecks.
• Supporting data migrations, imports, and exports across environments.
• Working closely with Engineering, QA, and Technical Services teams to ensure database performance meets business needs.
• Participating in a shared on-call rotation to support high-availability systems.
• Contributing to knowledge-sharing within the DBA team to support all Daxko products.

Qualifications

What You Bring:

• 3–5 years of hands-on MySQL database administration experience in production environments.
• Strong understanding of MySQL performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and execution plans.
• Experience with cloud-based database hosting, especially AWS RDS or Aurora for MySQL.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation for routine DBA tasks.
• Familiarity with clustering, replication, and high-availability configurations.
• Comfortable with occasional on-call support (nights/weekends).
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Experience:

• 5+ years of MySQL experience supporting multiple applications or product lines.
• Exposure to additional database platforms like SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
• Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and release management from a DBA perspective.
• Familiarity with database security best practices and auditing.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

Additional Information

The pay range for this role is $84,900 - $125,300 per year. Where you fall within the pay range is based on how you demonstrate the attributes and competencies required for the role.   We mostly reserve the upper half of our compensation bands for internal growth. In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, performance-based incentives, and opportunities for growth.
