Procurement Leader – INEOS Acetyls

Seniority Level: Mid-Senior level

Industry: Chemicals • Oil & Gas • Industrial Manufacturing

Location: Texas City, Texas – INEOS Acetyls (On-site)

INEOS Acetyls, a global leader in the chemicals industry, is seeking a Procurement Leader to oversee sourcing, supplier management, and team leadership for our Texas City operations. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and is ideal for a people-focused procurement professional with a strong background in chemical or industrial manufacturing who can balance strategic vision with day-to-day leadership.

About the Role

As Procurement Leader, you will drive purchasing strategies, strengthen supplier partnerships, and ensure procurement excellence that supports operational reliability and long-term growth. More than a process manager, this role requires a hands-on people leader who can develop talent, enforce accountability, and work across multiple functions to deliver results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement activities for the Texas City site with a focus on supplier performance, cost optimization, and risk mitigation.
  • Manage and develop a team of procurement professionals, setting clear expectations and fostering growth through coaching and accountability.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, maintenance, and finance to align procurement priorities with site and business objectives.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements that provide lasting value and security for the business.
  • Monitor industry trends and Gulf Coast chemical market dynamics to anticipate supply challenges.
  • Address team performance and supplier issues constructively, maintaining a culture of fairness, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field (required).
  • 15+ years of procurement experience, ideally within the chemical, petrochemical, or manufacturing industries.
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in chemical, petrochemical, or similar industrial manufacturing industries.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing direct reports, with a strong track record in coaching, team development, and performance management.
  • Demonstrated ability in contract negotiations, supplier management, and procurement strategy execution.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across the organization.
