Our Wabtec Young Touchstone team combines knowledge of our customers’ product platforms/processes with industry expertise to deliver unparalleled product solutions. Here you’ll interact daily with all support team functions to solve problems and will partner with other key stakeholders to support our customers and their operations.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Heat Transfer & Energy Solutions group, you will be responsible for providing Engineering support to our Young Touchstone business unit. You will touch all aspects of your assigned product line to ensure functionality, quality, cost, and schedule of delivery to your customers. You will provide services and support to both internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure materials, processes and products meet or exceed specifications. This position will report directly to the Director of Engineering of the business unit.

What do we want to know about you?

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Possess a Four-year college or university program certificate in an Engineering field and at least 4 years of related experience and/or training.
• Excellent leadership and the ability to work with cross-functional teams both internal & externally.
• Excellent communicator with strong English language skills (oral & written) with aptitude in building relationships & influencing at all organizational levels.
• Excellent ability to utilize resources available, to solve problems under pressure.
• Must have the skills and attention to detail to prepare a wide variety of engineering documentation.

What will your typical day look like?

• Conceptually design new products and packaging of the heat exchanger system.
• Create and/or analyzes new designs independently or within the team environment. 3D Modeling and CAD experience is required.
• Check the design of designers and drafters.
• Work with the customer and YT production to solve design problems, both on OEM production sites, in the field where the product is used, and on YT’s factory floor.
• Determine the method of verifying and validating new designs.
• Work on value-added engineering projects.
• Assist in the development of new people in the position of Designers.
• Use technical knowledge to come up with new and advanced methods of meeting customer requirements.
• Write DFMEAs and assures that product designs are meeting the functional requirements of the customer.
• May potentially manage a design team of Designers and Drafts people while leading them to ensure products are getting designed correctly and on time.
