ROLE OVERVIEW: As a Mission Critical Project Manager with Bowa Construction, you’ll play a pivotal role in planning, executing, and delivering mission-critical facilities—primarily data centers. This role demands a balance of technical precision and proactive management to handle complex projects in one of the fastest-growing sectors in construction. You will oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring that safety, cost, schedule, and quality standards are upheld. The Mission Critical division involves collaborative, multidisciplinary work, and you will coordinate activities with engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead all stages of mission-critical projects, including planning, design, and construction, ensuring that each phase aligns with client requirements and quality standards.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget constraints.
  • Oversee safety and quality control guidelines to maintain industry-leading standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate and optimize the allocation of manpower, materials, and equipment, maximizing efficiency and minimizing costs.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, engineers, and subcontractors, facilitating communication and promptly resolving project issues.
  • Identify project risks, including safety and compliance concerns, and implement proactive solutions to mitigate them.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and client-specific requirements, especially in fast-paced data center environments.
  • Prepare and oversee project documentation, including reports, change orders, and regulatory permits.
  • Lead, mentor, and foster a collaborative project team culture to ensure alignment with project goals.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. (Relevant experience may substitute for a degree.)
  • Minimum of 7 years in project management within commercial or mission-critical construction, with at least 3 years managing data center or similar high-tech projects.
  • Proven track record of managing large, complex construction projects from initiation through closeout.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in team management within a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) and tools for scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to develop innovative solutions to project challenges.
  • Knowledge of construction documentation, contracts, and change order processes.
  • Strong understanding of document control, scheduling, and cost control practices.
