Compensation & Schedule:

• Salary: $85,000 – $120,000 annually (based on experience)
• Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday – Friday
• Bonuses: Bi-annual performance-based bonus program

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand and manage the full scope of construction contracts
• Oversee subcontractor activities and maintain strong communication with foremen and crews
• Track materials, production progress, and project costs from start to finish
• Ensure quality control and adherence to engineering specifications
• Collaborate with owners and federal/local agencies, including contract negotiations
• Maintain project schedules and coordinate meetings to support project functions
• Work directly on job sites no superintendents or operations layer ensuring accountability and progress
• Perform estimating, take-offs, and solicit vendor quotes (training provided if needed)
• Negotiate and purchase materials and subcontract services
• Promote a culture of safety and support implementation of HSE programs
• Mentor and develop junior staff, with the potential to step into a managerial role
• Engage in continuous process improvement to deliver successful project outcomes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
• P.E. license or willingness to pursue preferred
• Desire to transition into project management, with interest in design, engineering, and field operations
• AutoCAD experience strongly preferred
• Proficient with MS Office Suite; experience with HCSS or Viewpoint is a plus
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in the field
• Willingness to learn estimating and bidding processes
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills

Travel Requirements:

• Primarily day travel within Wisconsin (Madison and Milwaukee areas most common)
• Some occasional travel to Illinois or Iowa as projects require
• Home every night – no overnight travel expected
