Job Description

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep, hands-on knowledge of the U.S. residential real estate industry, with specific expertise in the purchase and sale transaction lifecycle as it relates to title/escrow and closing workflows. This role will serve as a key resource to product, engineering, and business teams by providing industry insights, use cases, and validation for new and existing technology solutions. The SME will ensure our products are tightly aligned with the real-world workflows, regulations, and needs of buyers, sellers, REALTOR®s, and title & escrow providers.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned real estate professional, business analyst, or product advisor with direct experience in real estate transaction organization and processing, who is now looking to shape innovative technology solutions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the in-house expert on U.S. real estate purchase and sale transactions, providing input on current application needs, workflows, and pain points.
  • Partner with product managers and UX designers to develop accurate and valuable user journeys, personas, and feature requirements.
  • Review product concepts, wireframes, and prototypes to ensure alignment with real-world industry practices and regulatory standards.
  • Translate complex real estate practices into clear documentation and requirements for development teams.
  • Participate in user research and discovery sessions with real estate professionals, brokerages, lenders, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide competitive and market analysis related to transaction management platforms and real estate tech tools.
  • Stay current with evolving legislation, industry guidelines (e.g., RESPA, Fair Housing, ALTA, CLTA policies), and platform requirements (e.g., integrations, consumer, vendor).
  • Support go-to-market, training, and onboarding strategies by contributing to content, demos, and user education materials.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline or automate common pain points.

Qualifications / Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in the U.S. real estate industry, preferably with hands-on involvement in residential purchase/sale transactions.
  • Deep knowledge of title/escrow workflows, and real estate regulation and compliance standards.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge industry knowledge with technical, product and marketing teams.
  • Experience working in or with PropTech, title/escrow or transaction management software is a strong plus.
  • Ability to create or validate user stories, process maps, and documentation for product development.
  • Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, design, training, marketing).
  • Previous experience in a product, operations, or consulting role is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of state and federal real estate regulations, industry best practices, and emerging trends.
