Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• The R&D Food Scientist will lead the development and commercialization of new and existing food products aligned with business goals.
• Utilize culinary science to create products with consumer-preferred qualities.
• Manage multiple R&D projects using data-driven analysis and problem-solving.
• The R&D Food Scientist will address product and process challenges with innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, etc.) to ensure production readiness.
• Conduct sensory evaluations, shelf-life testing, and competitive analysis.
• Evaluate ingredients, suppliers, and co-packers for project fit and feasibility.
• The R&D Food Scientist will maintain strong internal and external partnerships, including ingredient suppliers.
• Travel to manufacturing sites for plant trials and scale-up activities.
• Present product concepts and demonstrations to customers as needed.
• The R&D Food Scientist will ensure cross-functional alignment on project timelines, deliverables, and customer expectations.
• Support selects customer accounts with technical expertise.

Qualifications:

• The R&D Food Scientist must hold a bachelor’s degree in food science. Masters preferred.
• Must have 5+ years in extensive beverage product development .
• Food Service/QSR experience a plus.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• The R&D Food Scientist must have strong formulation and ingredient functionality knowledge.
• Experience leading trials, interpreting data, and presenting technical results.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• The R&D Food Scientist must be proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Self-starter with strong team collaboration and customer-facing experience.
