Location & commitments

Full Time based at our Greenville location, Monday-Friday. Early and late hours may be required.

Supervision Received: Reports to Operations Manager and Chief Operating Officer.

Supervision Exercised: Clinical staff

Typical Physical Demands: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Involves standing and walking. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds. Requires normal visual acuity and hearing. Requires exposure to bodily fluids.

Typical Working Conditions:

Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

About the role

The RN Clinical Supervisor will be a versatile, self-motivated, and enthusiastic person that will demonstrate strong leadership for the Endoscopy clinical team. This person will be committed to supporting and developing a high performing team of clinical staff that provides premium patient care while keeping in mind the corporate goals that the organizational leadership of the practice has set forth.

Responsibilities : (This list may not include all the duties assigned.)

  • Perform all RN staff nurse responsibilities as needed.
  • Participate in direct patient care as a team member and promote the highest quality of care.
  • Coordinate and/or assist with patient hospital admissions/transfers as needed.
  • Assist with identifying and reporting accidents and incidents (patient and employee).
  • Provide clinical supervision for assigned clinical personnel (RN, LPN, Surgical Tech, NA). Provide structure, direction, and feedback.
  • Coordinate clinical staffing to ensure optimal facility efficiency.
  • Monitor clinical staffing and patient placement throughout the day and adjust accordingly.
  • Ensure the ordering and stocking of supplies for the clinical area, including procedure rooms.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new clinical staff. Attest to competencies of clinical staff.
  • Assist with completing 90 day and annual performance reviews for clinical staff.
  • Troubleshoot problems whenever possible and keep the Operations Manager informed of all reportable/significant problems and actions through oral or written reports.
  • Work closely with the Safety Officer and Operations Manager to ensure AAAHC requirements are being upheld.
  • Act as a liaison between the administrative and clinical staff by providing effective communication to both groups.
  • Promote and enforce the development, implementation and review of standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Act as a responsible and professionally accountable role model to inspire, motivate, and empower the workforce.
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned by management.

Other duties:

  • Maintains patient confidentially.
  • Keep management informed of high-risk situations.
  • Maintains licensure in accordance with North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Practice infection control, following OSHA guidelines and office policy.
  • Maintain BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Attend fire safety classes, clinical meetings, compliance, and other continuing education classes as offered by Physicians East.
  • Adheres to department and office policies.

Candidate requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Licensure: Must be registered with NCBON and in good standing.
  • Experience in electronic medical records software required.
  • Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate and interact professionally with others.
  • Ability to actively listen.
  • Ability to observe and to draft a narrative account of events accurately and cogently, in grammatically correct English.
  • Ability to spell, proofread and edit written text.
