As a **Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol** in **Columbia, SC** , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.
As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help to deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. You will remain highly visible, interact professionally with visitors and staff, and deliver exceptional customer service while carrying out your armed responsibilities. **What You'll Do:**
+ Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
+ Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
+ Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
+ Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
+ Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
**Responsibilities:**
+ Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies and/or responding to emergency situations as needed.
+ Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
+ Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
+ Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain order within the location.
+ Complete detailed reports on incidents, observations, and activities during the assigned shift.
+ Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency personnel when required, following established protocols for the location.
+ Operate security-related equipment, including radios and surveillance systems, as needed for the assigned post.
+ Maintain awareness of surroundings and report any unusual or suspicious activity to the appropriate parties.

**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Have at least 1 year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles.
+ Possess a valid armed guard card or armed guard license.
+ Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
+ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
+ Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
+ Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
+ Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
+ A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
