Job Description

The Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator will work in a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide centralized physical security management for the client's diverse range of assets across North America. The SOC operator's primary functions will consist of responding to alarms and monitoring live camera feeds. The SOC operator will follow documented procedures to ensure a timely and consistent resolution to all events. The ideal candidate should have exceptional communication problem-solving skills, as well as a basic understanding of major security monitoring systems, physical security controls, physical security concepts, and access control systems. This is an evolving position that requires a strong desire to continuously learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor live camera feeds and analyze camera-based alerts using surveillance cameras with built-in analytics.
  • Evaluate the validity of alerts by reviewing camera feeds and analytics data associated with the alert.
  • Initiate responses to verified security incidents and follow the documented procedures.
  • Document all verified security incidents and prepare detailed incident reports for review.
  • Maintain open communication with site contacts and local law enforcement as needed.
  • Assist the SOC Manager with day-to-day operations and implementation of new policies and procedures.
  • Participate in regular training sessions to stay up-to-date on SOP requirements and new procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in security or related fields is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a security operations center environment or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with security systems and surveillance technology
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
