Job Description

Titus HVAC is seeking a technically deep and customer orientated Chief Engineer based at our R&D and customer training headquarters in Plano, Texas. As CE, you will undertake a broad and varied set of responsibilities working across the business development, technical and product development departments of the organization.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Be recognized as an expert in commercial HVAC air distribution and related systems.
• Attend online (or occasionally in person) customer project meetings and provide air distribution design advice and direction to consulting engineers, mechanical contractors and architects, coordinating with the local distributors.
• Mentor and support our team of application engineers with unusual or challenging air distribution system design and product application problems.
• Participate with ASHRAE Technical Committees related to the air distribution market sector. Keep abreast of new and changing industry standards and understand the impact to the current product offering. Working with the Product Management team, advise on product design changes to maintain compliance with emerging industry standards.
• In close coordination with the Product Management team, assist with the capture of end user requirements for special manufacture products and new product developments.
• Offer expertise, support and guidance to laboratory engineers with the testing of air distribution equipment including terminal units and air diffusers.
• Provide technical training and coaching for our internal application engineers and customers participating in our on-site Consulting Engineer Training classes.
• 25% travel is required.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors in Engineering, Technology or similar required and licensed PE preferred.
• 7-10 years HVAC industry experience required.
• A working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems including Constant and Variable Air Volume Systems, Fan Coil Units, VRF & Chilled Beams.
• Breadth of experience and/or expertise in air distribution methods including overhead mixed, thermal displacement and underfloor air distribution systems.
• Must have proven track record in providing HVAC solutions to and working directly with consulting engineers, HVAC mechanical contractors, architects, and developers.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC equipment including chillers, air handling units, DOAS and pumps.
• General knowledge of DDC controls and sequencing for fan powered terminal units is preferable.
• Experience with large construction projects and performing technical assessments of HVAC system design from an air distribution perspective.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing air distribution products or related products.
• Good knowledge of Psychometrics desirable.
• Experience with participating in ASHRAE technical committee meetings preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC standards essential, including ASHRAE Standards: 62.1, 170, 70, 130 & 92.1 and AHRI Standards 880, 885, 410, 440
• Basic knowledge of acoustics and noise propagation.
• Outstanding presenting skills with the ability to communicate complex engineering concepts to a younger engineering audience in training classes. Must be able to confidently present at ASHRAE chapter meetings when required.
