Job Description

We're seeking a seasoned Senior Security Engineer to help lead our security architecture and engineering efforts. This role will drive strategic and operational leadership in security architecture, risk analysis, and regulatory compliance, ensuring our organization's security posture aligns with business objectives. This opportunity can be located in Chicago or Washington DC. It will require 20% in office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide security consulting and design reviews for IT projects, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure secure design and implementation
• Lead specific security domains/programs, managing multiple projects, generating roadmaps, and driving operational excellence
• Develop and implement security architecture principles and standards, metrics for continual improvement
• Assist stakeholders with research, analysis, and implementation of security capabilities, focusing on protection, detection, and response
• Participate in incident response efforts and manage domain-specific security tools

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Experience driving the integration of advanced network security and resiliency across the technology engineering and operations function is a must
• 7+ years of experience in various security domains, including security engineering and information security
• Experience with advanced network security, resiliency, and platforms such as Zscaler, Microsoft 365, AWS Cloud, and Akamai
• Advanced understanding of security controls, regulatory compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO, HITRUST, HIPAA), and scripting languages (Python preferred)

Required Skills:

• Expertise in web application security, cryptographic algorithms, PKI, and networking fundamentals
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and influence stakeholders
