Job Description

Company

David creates tools to increase muscle and decrease fat. Our first product is a protein bar. More broadly, David is a platform to develop high-protein, low-calorie, blood-sugar-friendly foods that are craveable.

This is a compelling opportunity to be a part of an exciting new food brand as we operate within a critical growth stage. David is led by CEO Peter Rahal, the Cofounder and Former CEO of RXBAR ($600M exit to Kellogg in 2017). We have strong aspirations to become the most popular high-protein bar in North America and beyond.

Role :

The Special Projects Manager supports our Discovery function, the team responsible for laying the groundwork for sustained growth. Discovery focuses on two critical areas: brand and product strategy. This team identifies future customer needs and plants the seeds for the next generation of brands, products, and innovations at David.

We’re looking for a sharp, entrepreneurial generalist who thrives in ambiguity, moves quickly, and brings a sense of ownership. You’ll help shape the business by leading key cross-functional initiatives, analyzing emerging opportunities, and supporting our systems and processes as we scale.

Responsibilities

Lead special projects, which may include:

  • Supporting new product innovation
  • Navigating manufacturing or supply chain changes
  • Executing brand campaigns or “stunt” launches
  • Launching apparel / activewear
  • Contributing to science and research efforts (e.g., clinical trials)
  • Assisting with strategic recruiting

Support discovery commercial needs

  • Analyze data, trends, and the competitive landscape to generate insights and strategic recommendations
  • Help build the internal infrastructure to support Discovery’s work
  • Strengthen systems and processes that enable scale, speed, and clarity
  • Collaborate across teams to bring new ideas to life—from strategy through execution

What you’ll bring :

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in consulting, investing, strategy, bizops, or early-stage startups
  • Strong analytical skills and intellectual curiosity
  • Proven ability to lead projects independently
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and switching between high-level thinking and hands-on work
  • Self-starting attitude with a love for executing on ideas and moving quickly
  • High IQ/intellectual horsepower
  • Low ego, high self-awareness, and eagerness to learn
  • Desire to help build an early-stage CPG company with a mission to create tools to increase muscle and decrease fat

Practicalities & Benefits :

  • This is a full-time, in-office role based in New York City. We work onsite five days a week — when the culture fits, it is fun to be in the office together.
  • Salary: $120-150K, per year, inclusive of cash bonus based on attainment of company targets.
  • Company equity opportunity on top of cash compensation.
  • 100% covered Health, Vision, Dental Insurance.
  • 401(k) with 4% match.
  • Additional perks, such as covered gym expenses.
  • Substantial and required PTO.

Application Process :

  • Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis.
  • The target start date for this role is summer of 2025.
