Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Reconciliation of Bank, Credit Card and Intercompany accounts for multiple entities
• Reconciliation of Prepaid and Accrual Balance Sheet accounts
• Accurate recording of financial transactions including grants, donations, payroll and Medicaid deposits
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with funder, auditor, agency and regulatory requirements
• Responsible for expense management system, Expensify, to ensure that expenses are coded correctly, receipts are attached, reports are submitted on a timely basis
• Ensure compliance with non-profit specific accounting standards like US GAAP and state and federal grant accounting,
• Collaborate with bookkeeping staff and others across the organization as needed Provide support during external audits and tax filings
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned as needed

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

• Accounting experience at a nonprofit organization with a minimum of 3 years
• Strong analytical, problem solving, communication and attention to detail
• Experience working with a multiple entity organization
• Comfortable in a fast-paced and growing organization
• Ability to work independently under limited supervision
• Ability to analyze financial data, reconcile accounts and manage multiple tasks
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP
• Experience with Google Workspace
• Proficiency in accounting software; experience with NetSuite a plus
• Experience working in a school setting a plus

Education:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting
