Job Description

About the job

Alyssa Kristin is looking for a Technical Designer (Bridal/Luxury Evening Wear) to support our development team and manage pre-production processes, focusing on accuracy of patterns, sizing, technical production documentation and working with our in-house seamstresses and/or factory partners, as needed.

The ideal candidate has acute attention to detail, the ability to meet tight deadlines, a comfort balancing competing and sometimes changing priorities, and between 3 to 5 years of technical design or pattern-making experience. This role can be based in Chicago or New Yor k, and we’re open to full-time, part-time, or freelance arrangements depending on experience and availability.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee pre-production, managing the transition from photoshoot samples to approved production for our in-house seamstresses and/or partner factories, including pattern adjustments as needed
  • Review and validate patterns for accuracy - assessing notches, grainlines, and cutter’s musts, and confirming measurements
  • Review grading to ensure consistency and proportion across the size range, recommending aesthetic modifications as needed post-grading
  • Prepare and evaluate TOPs before fittings, completing measurements and fit specs
  • Communicate with factory partners and patternmakers to implement post-fitting corrections and ensure updates are properly executed
  • Support the quality control process by reviewing garments received from production partners for accuracy and finish
  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation including tech packs, BOMs, and embroidery or lace placement maps

The skills and experience expected to deliver in this role include:

  • Strong technical understanding of patterns, fit, and garment construction
  • Associate degree in Patternmaking, Technical Design, or equivalent professional experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in bridal, couture, or luxury womenswear
  • Experience conducting or assisting with live fittings
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail

Alyssa Kristin is a modern bridal house rooted in elevated minimalism, intentional design, and sculptural simplicity. Proudly designed and produced in the USA, we’re expanding our flagship presence, debuting a new luxury line, and growing globally — and we’re looking for a Technical Designer to help us bring that vision to life.

To apply:

Job type: Full-time, Part-time, or Freelance

Compensation: Competitive, based on experience and arrangement (full-time, part-time, or freelance).

Benefits (full-time only):

  • 401k
  • Medical, dental, vision insurance
