Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mold Designer to join our engineering team in Meadville, PA. The Mold Designer will be responsible for creating detailed designs and drawings for injection molds, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing solutions. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate closely with engineers, machinists, and production teams to deliver precision tooling.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop injection molds based on project requirements and customer specifications.
• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Review part designs for manufacturability and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility.
• Update and maintain mold design documentation.
• Troubleshoot and modify existing mold designs to improve performance or address production issues.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety guidelines, and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of experience in mold design, preferably in injection molding.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of mold construction, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with CNC machining processes.
• Knowledge of mold flow analysis software.
• Familiarity with GD&T and precision measurement tools.

Location & Work Environment

• Based in Meadville, PA.
• Office and manufacturing floor environment with occasional customer or vendor visits.
