Vice President of Manufacturing / 61889

$110,000–$125,000+

Sapphire Recruitment is seeking an experienced Vice President of Manufacturing for a rapidly growing, vertically integrated manufacturer, in the Binghamton area, with advanced machining and precision molding capabilities. This is a key leadership role driving operational excellence, expansion, and long-term strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all manufacturing operations, including production, scheduling, resource planning, maintenance, and on-time delivery
• Manage full plant P&L: budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and profitability
• Lead capacity expansion, equipment upgrades, and other growth initiatives
• Improve core KPIs such as OEE, scrap, cycle time, machine uptime, labor efficiency, and delivery performance
• Develop and mentor the manufacturing team, strengthening internal leadership
• Implement Lean and continuous improvement practices (5S, SMED, Kaizen, RCA, VSM)
• Partner with Engineering on mold performance, process optimization, new product launches, and tooling
• Collaborate with Ownership on strategic planning, capital investments, and long-term growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 10+ years of manufacturing experience, including 5+ years in leadership (injection molding or plastics strongly preferred)
• Demonstrated P&L ownership and success scaling operations
• Strong floor presence with excellent problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Lean, CI, and safety leadership
