Title: Advanced Technology Engineer

Location: Georgetown, KY

Duration: 12 Months Assignment (possible extension)

Reporting to the MIT Manager, the person in this role will support the Production Engineering Division to improve manufacturing competitiveness.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop and install robot and PLC applications for R&D.

• The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and implement innovation activities improving manufacturing competitiveness.

• Work with stakeholders to understand current processes and issues

• Implement customized robotic and PLC solution to remedy stakeholders highest priority problems

• Use strong communication skills to create proposals, negotiate roles and responsibilities, and gain approvals.

• Develop equipment procurement scopes of work and ensure specification is met from planning to production usage.

• Follow policies and procedures to ensure equipment and process safety.

• Present reports and updates to stakeholders, management, and executives

• Communicate with stakeholders, keep them informed and engaged, and resolve issues.

• Document the project process and maintain project documentation.

Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Robotics/Industrial Maintenance Technologies or equivalent.

• Professional experience – at least 3 year of experience including co-ops and internships.

• Experience in Robotics, including operation, teaching, maintenance, and safety. Fanuc and UR preferred.

• Experience in PLC programming. Toyopuc and Omron preferred.

• Proven experience in development of innovation projects in a manufacturing environment.

• Proven experience with project management including writing detailed scope of work, creating schedules, managing vendors/contractors, and providing regular status updates.

• Manage project resources, including finances and budgets, and allocate resources throughout the project.

• Proven use of computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) engineering software techniques.

• Ability to analyze and interpret engineering drawings.

• Excellent time management and task prioritization skills.

• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in construction management

• Experience in automotive assembly plant

• Project Management certification

• Familiarity with SAE/ISO, NFPA/NEC, and UL standards

• Proven experience with conducting equipment risk assessments

• Experience deploying and troubleshooting vision systems

• Toyopuc safety PLC.

• Vision Systems.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience.

• An ideal candidate should have experience in Robotics, including operation, teaching, maintenance, and safety. Fanuc and UR preferred.

• Experience in PLC programming. Toyopuc and Omron preferred.

Notes:

• Willingness and ability to travel, domestically and internationally as required (~25%).

• Willingness to work overtime as required.
