Job Description

Our client, a growing nonprofit in Chicago, is seeking a Chief Development Officer ! You’ll partner with the CEO, Board, and the Development Committee to build and execute an annual fundraising strategy—covering annual giving, major gifts, corporate/foundation partnerships, and special events. You’ll personally cultivate donors, steward relationships, and meet revenue goals through thoughtful outreach, engaging events, and strategic donor networks.

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with leadership to set fundraising targets, timelines, and strategies
  • Drive annual campaigns, donor engagement, sponsorships, and event fundraising
  • Oversee grant efforts and manage CRM-driven donor pipelines
  • Support and coach the board and committee members in fundraising activities
  • Ensure top-tier donor stewardship and recognition
  • Lead digital outreach and marketing to enhance fundraising results

Ideal background:

  • 10+ years in nonprofit fundraising, development, events, or sales
  • Proven skills in managing campaigns, cultivating high-impact relationships, and leveraging CRM systems
  • Excellent communication, project leadership, and stakeholder management abilities
