Job Description

Overview:

Roadway Moving, a national leader in delivering stress-free moving experiences, is currently seeking a dedicated Planner to join our team. As a Planner at Roadway Moving, you will play a vital role in coordinating and optimizing transportation routes, urban planning strategies, and environmental considerations to ensure efficient and sustainable moving operations for our valued customers.

We are currently looking for an experienced Dispatcher that will be in charge of making sure that all moving jobs are coordinated efficiently with sufficient manpower, the proper equipment/vehicles, and that all jobs are processed for pickups and deliveries efficiently and safely.

This is a 6 day/week position with a rotational Saturdays off, usually off season.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Analyze scheduled moving jobs and assign appropriate moving teams based on individual team qualifications.
  • Arrange shipment pickups and deliveries with the appropriate commercial vehicles and authorized drivers.
  • Orchestrate pickups and deliveries to meet customer demand with little or no delay.
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline of available staff to meet company capacity needs.
  • Work closely with Operations and maintain proper rotation of company fleet to be serviced.
  • Provide daily and weekly analytical reports of available manpower and internal reviews of mover positions.
  • Dispatching movers on a regular basis.
  • Book hotels, roadside service as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of dispatching experience, preferably in household goods and moving industry.
  • Knowledge of DOT State and Federal regulations for DOT sensitive commercial vehicles.
  • Possess strong communication (oral and written), statistical and analytical skills.
  • Experience with all Microsoft Programs.
  • Problem-solving/decision making skills and ability.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Analytical mindset.
  • Ability to understand data and understand connections.
  • Works well under pressure and has the ability to work independently.
