Senior Machine Learning Ops Engineer (W2 only)

Location: Blue Ash, OH/ Remote

Duration: 12 Months (Contract)

Employment Type: W2 Contractor

Pay Rate: $78/hr (W2)

Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled MLOps Engineer to design, scale, and support our Google Vertex AI machine learning platform. This role will focus on building reusable infrastructure components, model deployment pipelines, and templates that empower domain teams to efficiently deploy, monitor, and support machine learning models in production.

As part of the **ML Platform Team supporting ’s Product Recommendation systems, this engineer will collaborate with data scientists, MLOps engineers, data engineers, and software engineers to build and maintain data pipelines, ML workflows, and backend services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement reusable modules and templates for model training, deployment, and monitoring using Vertex AI and other cloud platforms.
• Build and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines for ML workflows, ensuring safe and efficient deployment.
• Develop tools for observability and monitoring, including drift detection, performance metrics, latency tracking, and alerting.
• Collaborate with domain teams to onboard models, aligning with operational standards and SLAs.
• Manage and evolve feature stores, model registries, and endpoints for low-latency, high-throughput inference.
• Define governance policies around versioning, rollback strategies, and access controls.
• Provide technical leadership and enable self-service capabilities for data science teams.
• Partner with cross-functional engineering and data teams to integrate models into production seamlessly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of MLOps experience, with proven expertise in ML platform operations.
• Strong programming skills in Python, with exposure to data science methodologies.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms: Google Cloud (Vertex AI preferred), with flexibility for Azure or open-source ML systems.
• Hands-on experience with ML frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn, including containerized deployments.
• Skilled at cross-team collaboration and communicating technical details to varied stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience partnering closely with data scientists to address deployment needs.
• Ability to lead initiatives and present solutions clearly to technical and leadership teams.
• Familiarity with a wide range of ML tools and eagerness to adopt emerging technologies.
