What You’ll Do

As a Development Paralegal you'll :

Under the general supervision of the Affordable Housing Closing Manager, assist

in the development and closing of affordable housing projects for national nonprofit affordable

housing developer, owner and operator.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Provide necessary support to Development Department in order to achieve quality, timely

submission of housing development funding applications, including but not limited to Low

Income Housing Tax Credit (“LIHTC”) and FHA mortgage applications.

2) Assist in the closing process to meet critical deadlines. Duties include, but are not limited to:

a) Coordinate timely submission of due diligence to lenders, investors, and closing parties.

b) Facilitate review of title, survey, and insurance documents.

c) Securing and distributing executed documents and closing binders in timely manner; and

d) Ensure full compliance with corporate document management and storage protocols.

3) Take a leadership role in managing critical document files pursuant to corporate document

management and storage protocols.

4) Take a leadership role in administering and managing online document management system

with internal and external users.

5) Assist in the timely submission of reports as required by funding providers post-closing.

6) Promote and participate as an active and supportive member of the National Church

Residences Development team.

7) Other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATION SHEET—Paralegal

Education: Associates degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Licensure: Paralegal Certification and/or Juris Doctor required.

Experience: Three (3) years paralegal or legal experience required. Development, real estate,

affordable housing finance, corporate, nonprofit, and/or government experience preferred but not

required.

Location: Must have the ability to work out of an office in Columbus, Ohio.

• Collaborative skills, with the ability to work with diverse internal and external entities to

accomplish project goals in a collegial and team-based setting.

• Must have a working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, and web-based

applications
