Job Description

Boutique Law Firm, a nationally recognized trial practice represents various individuals in complex, high-stakes claims and lawsuits primarily involving product liability, mass torts, class actions, and other related matters. It seeks an experienced Appellate/Litigation Support Attorney for its Law Division providing legal strategy across the firm’s trials. The successful candidate will have experience evaluating trial records, writing effective trial briefs, motions, and memorandum, analyzing and framing factual and legal issues considered for the trial and appellate standards of review, conducting legal research, and presenting oral arguments pre, during, and post-trial.

Qualifications

  • Applicants will be evaluated based on legal research and writing ability, critical thinking, academic accomplishment, knowledge of the law, and legal experience
  • The successful applicant will demonstrate character, independent thought, and the ability to manage a caseload while communicating in a team setting and producing outstanding work product
  • Must have experience providing trial and litigation support
  • Must have appellate experience
  • Must be detail-oriented and have time management skills
  • Exceptional legal research and writing skills
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
  • Proficient in using legal technology and software for case management, with a willingness to embrace cutting-edge legal tech
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, if necessary, while maintaining a high level of productivity and accountability
  • Proficient in handling hearings and trial arguments both remotely and in person
  • Commitment to professionalism, ethics, and client service
  • Graduation from an accredited law school
  • Membership in the Florida Bar. Membership to other bars is a plus, particularly in Oregon, Illinois, New Mexico, Hawaii, Nevada, and USVI
  • Florida Bar (Required)
  • Position based in Coral Gables, FL
  • Remote considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Law Review and/or Moot Court while in law school preferred
  • Judicial clerkships are preferred
  • Ability to travel

Responsibilities

  • The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the litigation process, providing comprehensive support from initial pleadings through post-trial and the appeal
  • Conduct exhaustive legal research to support case strategies and arguments
  • Drafting and reviewing initial pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Proactively avoid/circumvent motions for summary judgment by thoroughly preparing and strategizing with team members on initial pleadings
  • Addressing pre-trial motions and post-trial motions
  • Assist in the preparation of strategy for discovery requests and responses
  • Collaborating with trial and other attorneys to develop case strategies and prepare for trial and appeal
  • Utilizing advanced legal technology and creativity to enhance case preparation and management
  • Attendance at trial/legal support
  • Post-trial motions, and Appeals
