  • The Shipping Associate is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation, packaging, and shipment of goods.
  • This role requires a strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a solid understanding of various shipping carrier procedures.
  • The ideal candidate will be highly organized, efficient, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Order Fulfillment: Accurately pack and label outgoing shipments according to customer orders and company standards.
  • Carrier Management: Prepare shipments using various shipping software and platforms, including FedEx, UPS, and DHL, ensuring compliance with each carrier's specific requirements (e.g., dimensions, weight, labeling).
  • Documentation: Generate and maintain accurate shipping documentation, including packing lists, commercial invoices, bills of lading, and export declarations.
  • Hazardous Materials: (Preferred) Properly prepare, label, and document hazardous material shipments in compliance with IATA, DOT, and other relevant regulations.
  • Quality Control: Inspect outgoing packages for damage or discrepancies, ensuring products meet quality standards before shipment.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations within the warehouse environment.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve shipping discrepancies or issues, escalating complex problems to the Shipping Manager as needed.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and shrink wrap machines.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other warehouse team members, customer service, and sales departments to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a shipping, logistics, or warehouse environment.
  • Proven experience utilizing shipping software and processes for major carriers, including FedEx, UPS, and DHL.
  • Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong basic math skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Experience with hazardous material shipping regulations (IATA, DOT, IMDG) and proper documentation.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Experience with SAP operating system.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or distribution setting.

Education:
