Job Description:
- The Shipping Associate is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation, packaging, and shipment of goods.
- This role requires a strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a solid understanding of various shipping carrier procedures.
- The ideal candidate will be highly organized, efficient, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Order Fulfillment: Accurately pack and label outgoing shipments according to customer orders and company standards.
- Carrier Management: Prepare shipments using various shipping software and platforms, including FedEx, UPS, and DHL, ensuring compliance with each carrier's specific requirements (e.g., dimensions, weight, labeling).
- Documentation: Generate and maintain accurate shipping documentation, including packing lists, commercial invoices, bills of lading, and export declarations.
- Hazardous Materials: (Preferred) Properly prepare, label, and document hazardous material shipments in compliance with IATA, DOT, and other relevant regulations.
- Quality Control: Inspect outgoing packages for damage or discrepancies, ensuring products meet quality standards before shipment.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations within the warehouse environment.
- Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve shipping discrepancies or issues, escalating complex problems to the Shipping Manager as needed.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and shrink wrap machines.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other warehouse team members, customer service, and sales departments to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a shipping, logistics, or warehouse environment.
- Proven experience utilizing shipping software and processes for major carriers, including FedEx, UPS, and DHL.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Strong basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Experience with hazardous material shipping regulations (IATA, DOT, IMDG) and proper documentation.
- Forklift certification.
- Experience with SAP operating system.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or distribution setting.

Education:
- High School Diploma or GED.
