Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Investment Analyst (Energy) to join our investment team. This role involves conducting in-depth financial and operational analysis of oil and gas assets, evaluating investment opportunities, supporting portfolio management, and contributing to strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate has a strong background in financial modeling, energy market fundamentals, and valuation of upstream, midstream, and/or downstream assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed financial modeling, including discounted cash flow (DCF), net asset value (NAV), and internal rate of return (IRR) analysis for oil and gas assets and companies.
  • Evaluate potential investment opportunities in upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors.
  • Conduct technical and commercial due diligence
  • Analyze commodity market trends, pricing scenarios, and regulatory developments affecting the oil and gas industry.
  • Prepare investment memos, pitch decks, and presentations for internal committees and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of existing investments, including production, revenue, costs, and risks.
  • Maintain databases and tools for tracking industry benchmarks, company performance, and market metrics.
  • Support transaction execution, including negotiations, documentation, and coordination with legal and financial advisors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance (2024 and 2025 grads)
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills; proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Experience with energy industry databases (e.g., Enverus, Wood Mackenzie, IHS) is a plus.
  • Understanding of oil and gas reserves classification, production metrics, and capital cost structures.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Prior experience with M&A, project finance, or reserve-based lending in the energy sector
