Title: Warehouse Configuration Technician
Location: Vernon Hills, 60061
Hourly Rate: $20/hr
Shift: 5:30am - 2pm
3-month contract with extensions and possible conversion
Must haves:
-Laptop/PC/cell phone/tablet/printer Configuration experience
-COMFORTABLE AND WILLING to working in a warehouse-type environment
-Customer Service/Communication skills – will be dealing directly with clients
-Reliable transportation - (own vehicle)
-High school diploma or GED
Plusses:
-Degree in IT
-A+, Network+ or other certifications (if they have them, please obtain certification # or copy of certificate)
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Configure customers' systems to their required specifications.
- Test systems to ensure 100% quality.
- Maintain minimum monthly productivity goals.
- Troubleshoot problems with computer systems, including hardware, software and peripheral equipment.
- Ensure that customers receive the highest level of customer service.
- Communicate issues concerning customer orders to the area Help Desk or Team Leader.
- Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines at all times.
Job Description:
A client in the Vernon Hills area is looking to bring on a Configuration Technician that will be responsible for installing and configuring hardware and software on a high volume of computers, printers and other products for customers on a daily basis. This will include un-boxing units to configure and boxing units back up to prepare for shipment. They will be configuring all new equipment, not fixing existing hardware, and will mostly be working on one specific client’s devices, but as the needs change, they could work on other devices. Overtime is to be expected and, in some cases, required.
NOTE: no cell phones or other electronics will be permitted in the warehouse – they can be left in a locker room or your vehicle
Compensation:
$20/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
